Welcome to the School Council section of our website. Here you can find out more about the School Council, who is involved, and learn about the events and activities we run throughout the year.
The School Council is made up of one child from each year group (Years 1–6). The Reception children are represented by a member of Y6. Together, they represent the voice of the pupils and help to share ideas, suggestions, and concerns from their peers.
Supported by Mrs Jamieson, the School Council discusses these issues and works together to make decisions and take action to improve school life for everyone.
The School Council:
Organises events to raise money for the school charity
Holds meetings and shares pupil suggestions with relevant staff
Puts forward ideas to improve the school and the local community
Works with other Pupil Leadership teams across SET
To give pupils the opportunity to be actively involved in improving school life
To encourage pupils to work in partnership with staff to develop a caring school community
To help pupils develop important life skills
To involve pupils in problem-solving and conflict resolution
Elections will be carried out fairly, without prejudice or discrimination
Any child may stand for election, with decisions made by secret ballot
Candidates must present a speech to their class explaining why they would be suitable for the role
